Q. Is the breed of a bandog ~ A Neapolitan X Pittbull???

A. The American Canine Hybrid Club recognizes the American Bulldog crossed with a Mastiff as an American Bandogge. The Designer Dogs Kennel Club recognizes the American Bulldog crossed with the Mastiff as the American Masti-Bull. The word "Bandogge" is the generic name for any Bulldog Type Mastiff breed.

A. why do you feel the need to ask this a million times about various different breeds? nobody really cares because we wouldn't put two dogs together like that to see who would win.

A. If I want a mutt, I'll be more than happy to rescue one. Pit Bulls/Pit Bull mixes and Neos/Neo mixes are incredibly hard to find homes for once the owner has thrown them away. If I want a Neapolitan Mastiff, I'll buy a Neapolitan Mastiff from a good breeder, not from some ghetto small penis breeder pretending to "recreate" some extinct breed.

Is there any danger in pouring a slight amount of milk on my dogs crunchy food?
Q. I mix 1/2 cup of milk with my bandog's 3 meal's of 5 cups of crunchies because he is a finicky eater otherwise.
Asked by Altruist - Wed Jul 1 23:43:19 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I would discourage this as milk is hard for dogs to digest and can cause gastrointestinal issues...besides it's not your bowl of cerial, it's his kibble...if he's a picky eater (I'd suspect a low quality, less palitable food is being fed) add warm water or beef/chicken broth even canned food would be a step up.

What exactly is a Bandog?
Q. Is it a specific breed or just a loose term used for a crossbred dog of a certain type? I was looking at some puppies for sale recently and came across some litters of Bandogs in the trading post. They all appear to be some type of Mastiff cross with a staffy or something like that. One litter was mostly black or Brindle with white chests and the other litter I saw were blue/grey in colour. Although both looked like they would be quite large, solid dogs. Could anybody please give me some info on this breed? The temperment? I'm sure they would make great gaurd dogs but are they suitable family dogs also? Thanks

What type of dog is a Basic Dog?
Q. I stumbled across the term Basic Dog today. It was listed alongside Bandog. Now, I know what a Bandog is, but I've never seen the term Basic Dog before. An online search didn't give me any answers, so I'm hoping someone here can help. Thanks. EDIT: It is not a general term for dogs. It was on a list of dog breeds and types of dogs banned from a certain area.

The breeds are: English Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, German Shepherd (Alsatian), Doberman, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Japanese Akita, Bull Mastiff, Japanese Tosa and Bandog. Cross-breeds of these dogs or crosses of these dogs with any other breed are also banned. A. I hate and totally disagree with BSL it is BS. Innocent dogs and owners are the only ones that get punished and not the ones who rightfully need to be punished. It does not address the problem only cover it up. Will not solve anything. At one ttime or another I have owned or fostered evryone of the breeds you listed and the were all great dogs with absolutely no aggression. The law makers are the ones who should be banned,

A. Pitbulls shouldn't be condemed at all! Only Pitbull owners who train them to fight or attack should be condemed! Pits are some of the sweetest dogs on earth and they get a really bad rap because of people training them wrong!

A. Not sure about the first one, the second one refers to the Fila Braseilero in Brazil. The judge may not touch the dog to examine it and there are no points taken away from the dog for showing aggression toward the judge. The dog must ALWAYS be under the control of his handler for obvious reasons!! ADD: Sarah S, look up the Fila FCI standard on showing the breed, it implicitly states what I mentioned above!

A. The media. How easy is it for a reporter to stand in front of a camera looked shock and say a pit bull did it. I have known reporters to lie about the breed of to make a report sound better. Not only that but when it is found out it was not a "pit bull" they never tell the Truth of what breed it was that attacked. Add to that PETA founder Newkirk is on a personal mission to wipe the breed out, well you know what will happen. For those who say she would not do that I will put the quote in later. Dose anyone remember the story about the baby that had its toes chewed off by the pit bull puppy, did you know they found it was a ferret not the puppy that did it and the parents had left the baby alone for hours. No news show ever told the… [cont.]
